Load Requirements and Safety Guidelines

Ensuring efficient and safe transportation is a top priority at GTC Logisticz, Inc. The following load requirements and rules must be communicated and confirmed with assigned drivers before any trip.

Full Load Details

To ensure smooth operations, drivers must have complete trip information, including:

  • Trip Addresses & Stops – Know all pickup, transit, and delivery locations.

  • Trip Numbers & References – Keep all relevant trip documentation on hand.

  • Trip Scheduled Arrival, Transit, and Delivery Times – Adhere strictly to the schedule.

  • Type of Service Required – Solo or team service. Trips over 500 miles require team drivers.

Equipment Requirements

All drivers must ensure their equipment meets the following specifications:

  • Trailer: A clean 53’ ft Dry Van trailer with horizontal dual e-tracks.

  • Straps: 12 ratchet-type straps. (image example is attached below)

  • Security: Padlocks for cargo security.

Important Notice:

USPS property straps are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated. Drivers must provide their own straps to load. Load shoring bars and refrigerated trailers are not acceptable.

Dock/Yard Safety Protocols

  • NEVER pull out of the dock on a red light!

Safety Requirements

To ensure personal and operational safety, drivers must comply with the following:

  • HCR Drivers must wear reflective vests on USPS premises and during dock operations.

  • Proper Footwear: Open-toed shoes are strictly prohibited on site.

Load/Unload Protocols

Proper procedures must be followed to ensure cargo is loaded and unloaded safely:

  1. Securely park the vehicle, use wheel chocks, and engage the brakes.

  2. Actively participate in the loading/unloading process.

  3. Properly secure and release the load before movement.

  4. Stay alongside the trailer at all times during loading/unloading.

  5. Store vehicle keys on the designated hook before accessing the trailer.

Driver Arrival Procedure

Upon arrival, drivers must report inside to the expediter to:

  • Open the trailer door.

  • Surrender vehicle keys.

  • Bring in the required straps and a lock.

Critical Departure Protocol

Before leaving the facility, drivers must:

  • Ensure the vehicle cargo door and the facility dock door are completely closed.

  • Detach keys only after confirming doors are secured.
